About Us

Nancy Schoenheide-Phares is a devoted fan of music and a self-described "media junkie" with more than twenty five years combined experience in radio, marketing and event production.

Her ten years in radio sales management led her on a winding path from Clare, MI (WCFX)  to Detroit (WNIC, WABX), to Santa Barbara, (KTYD) and  San Luis Obispo (KOTR), CA., and back to Michigan.

Back home in the Detroit area, she joined the Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts (1981 grad) as Director of Marketing and Placement, also serving as Sales and Promotion Instructor, assisting over 1000 students over five years in pursuit of their broadcast career dreams.

More recently, Nancy served as Marketing Director for the 2006 Detroit International Jazz Festival. She has consulted on the marketing of companies as diverse as Communications Systems Group (CSG), The Friendship Circle, and Diamond Jim Brady's Bistro, in addition to Detroit area festivals from the Plymouth Ice Spectacular to the Downtown Hoedown. From 2000 to 2003 she served as Executive Director of the Motor City Music Foundation, which presents the annual Detroit Music Awards, and she co-produced the event in 2005 and 2006 with partner Terri Koggenhop.
